Another equipment failure at the Montgomery County Water Plant caused officials to issue a boil-water advisory over the weekend.
County Utilities Director Chris Hildreth told WMTG that a line rupture occurred at the plant Saturday around 11:00 p.m., disrupting service to water customers in areas around Wadeville, south of Mount Gilead, and all of the Lake Tillery communities. Until further notice, water customers are advised to boil any water to be used for human consumption.
Repairs were made yesterday, and the boil-water advisory will be in effect until lines are flushed and water quality testing is completed. Montgomery County Schools made a rules exception to allow students to bring bottled water today.
WMTG will provide updated information on-air as it is received, and more details are available on the county website at http://www.montgomerycountync.com.
