Boil-Water Advisory Lifted

The Montgomery County Utilities Department yesterday lifted the boil-water advisory that was issued after an equipment failure on Sunday. While WMTG aired regular status updates on the situation, the department kept the public informed through postings on its website, including a specific set of options for food service establishments that wanted to stay open during the advisory.

During the advisory, WMTG found some restaurants in the county serving only bottled soft drinks and water, while others were selling fountain drinks and brewed beverages as usual. One restaurant worker said she had been told the advisory “didn’t really apply” to them, which is contradictory to the information circulated by the county. WMTG is seeking some clarification from public officials, and we will continue to follow the story.
