The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce held its annual members meeting and awards banquet last night at the Garner Center in Troy. In her first annual banquet address as Director of the Chamber, Tricia Webb encouraged local business owners to participate in the Chamber’s “Think Montgomery First” initiative.
“As business owners, you owe it to yourselves to talk to your friends, your family, your coworkers and employees about how beneficial it is for local people to buy and eat locally,” said Webb. “Use local service people, use local news outlets to advertise your business, and spread the word about local events and information.”
The Chamber of Commerce recognized outgoing president Judy Estridge of First Bank, and welcomed incoming president Lindsay Whitley of Montgomery County Schools. A number of awards were presented, and we’ll talk more about those in updates tomorrow and Friday.
