Intersection Improvements Underway in Mount Gilead

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has begun work on a project to improve the navigability of a Mount Gilead intersection.

Crews began work yesterday to ease the turning radius at Wadesboro Boulevard and North Main Street, in front of the former service station now owned by the town. The complete project is expected to involve the relocation of utility poles and the widening of roadway on three corners at the intersection, where trucks and other large vehicles have had difficulty making turns.

No timetable was given for the completion of the work.
