Troy-based First Bank has announced an expansion of its residential mortgage services.
The bank issued a statement saying the addition of seven new residential mortgage local originators and eight mortgage support staff positions is in response to what it calls a “growing demand for community based residential lending services.” The positions will be filled at the bank’s mortgage operations offices in Southern Pines and Wilmington.
First Bank operates 98 retail bank branches in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The bank has been in the news recently because of rumors it might move its administrative headquarters from Troy to Moore County. Bank officials have not publicly confirmed those rumors.
