Water Customers in Star, Steeds Still Taking Precautions

Montgomery County water customers in the Star and Steeds area are still taking precautions following a water line break there Sunday night.

County Public Utilities Director Chris Hildreth said the break in the main water transmission line was repaired at 12:30 a.m. Monday, and the water level in the tank at Steeds was back to normal by 6:00 yesterday morning. A boil water advisory was issued for those on county water in and around Star and Steeds.

Hildreth said the affected area was too large to flush, and he expects the boil advisory to be lifted this afternoon, pending favorable results of a water quality test.

Up-to-the-minute information is available on the county government website at http://www.montgomerycountync.com.
