NOTE: Due to the threat of rain, this event has been rescheduled for Sat., Mar. 30, at 3:00 p.m.
An Easter parade is set for this Sunday afternoon in Mount Gilead. Area residents are invited to dress up in their finest and gather on the square for a time of fun and fellowship.
The Easter parade is sponsored by the Piedmont Arts Guild, and event co-chair Marsha Russell says ladies are invited to decorate their own hats for the day.
“We will have a contest for the best-decorated hat,” Russell said. “We will just go up and down the street in our finery, and parade to music played over a speaker at the Methodist Church.”
Men and children are encouraged to participate, too, and the Easter bunny will make an appearance. Weather permitting, the Easter parade will start Sun., Mar. 24, at 3:00 p.m. on the square in Mount Gilead.
