Montgomery County first responders, law enforcement and others will gather this weekend to participate in an emergency preparedness exercise designed to simulate armed intruders in a school setting.
Emergency Services Director Corey Roberts said personnel from the county’s Emergency Services, Sheriff’s Office and schools will be joined by other local emergency responders and community partners for the exercise. It will start Sat., Apr. 20, at 8:00 a.m. at West Montgomery High School, on Warrior Dr. near the Wadeville community.
Nearby West Middle School will also be used as a media briefing area, and motorists are advised that there may be congestion along N.C. Hwy. 109 throughout the morning.
