This weekend, a cast of about 25 local folks will take the stage for “Music Makes the Year Go ‘Round”.
The show is conceived and directed by Liz LaRosa, a school music teacher from Pennsylvania who retired to Mount Gilead several years ago and has been quite active in the local arts scene since then. LaRosa is also music director at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Gilead.
“Music Makes the Year Go ‘Round” takes its audience on a journey from January through December, with lots of selections for the entire cast and many featured vocalists in solos and trios.
The show is a fund raiser for the Mount Gilead Community Concerts Association, which presents an annual concert series with visiting artists, supports the Mount Gilead Community Choir, provides arts encounters for local students, and operates CR WMTG.
Shows are set for Sat., Apr. 27, at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Apr. 28, at 3:00 p.m. at Levin Auditorium, S. School St., Mount Gilead, and tickets will be available at the door. To make it easier to get into the auditorium, the double doors on the side nearest the gym will be used as the main entrance.
