Suspect Sought in Ramseur Bank Robbery

The FBI and Randolph County authorities are still searching for the man believed to be responsible for this week’s robbery of Fidelity Bank in Ramseur.

Ramseur Police say they are looking for 34-year-old Matthew Steven Jones. Officers have identified Jones as the prime suspect in robbery, which happened Monday at 9:25 a.m.

Carroll County, Va. deputies say Jones may also be responsible for the disappearance of Desia Rae George. The Galax Gazette says the woman’s family reported her missing April 15, and that she and Jones were in a relationship at the time and that the two have a child together. The paper reports that the woman’s family had not heard from her in weeks.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Matthew Steven Jones is asked to call 911.
