Heritage Day Festival, 5K & Bike Ride Planned for This Weekend in Star

The Star Heritage Day festival is coming up this weekend. It starts Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. with bluegrass music and food at the Community Kitchen and continues with a variety of activities from early morning through mid-afternoon Saturday.

The Star Charity 5K Run and Walk is part of the festival, and it starts Saturday morning at 7:30. Also Saturday is the Star Trek bike ride, with five routes ranging from 18 to 53 miles.

Other events Saturday include a fossil dig for kids at the library, a community yard sale at Star Elementary School to benefit Relay for Life, and open houses and refreshments at several locations.
