With the start of school just three weeks from Monday, the Montgomery County Retired School Personnel and Communities in Schools are sponsoring a school tools drive. A collection box has been set up inside Walmart in Biscoe, though items can be purchased anywhere and dropped off in the box.
Communities in Schools director Lynn Epps said all supplies collected will stay in Montgomery County. She also told WMTG the Biscoe location is the only drop-off point at this time.
Retired School Personnel President Gene Griffith encouraged people to take advantage of this weekend’s tax-free holiday (from 12:01 a.m. Fri. through 11:59 p.m. Sun.) as a time to buy supplies to help those in need.
