– Morrow Mountain State Park reopened to the public at 8 a.m. today. Some facilities (including the mountaintop section and some trails) remain closed following storm damage sustained in mid-June, but many amenities (including the swimming pool and boat rentals) are available.

– The Mount Gilead TRUTH Committee will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. All local residents are welcome.

– The local observance of the National Night Out will be held tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Mount Gilead. All are invited for free food and fellowship in Dr. McKinnon’s parking lot on N. Main St.

– The Montgomery County Board of Education will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. We’ll report from the meeting in our upcoming local updates.
