Here are a few items of interest we’ve been talking about on the air today…
– A new exhibit from Mount Gilead artist Dorothy B. B. Kee will open one week from tomorrow at the Montgomery County Public Library. The collection is called “Global Reflections”, and it is scheduled to run through September 30 at the library’s main location in Troy. We’ll have more details about the exhibit over the next week or so.
– The American Red Cross blood drive will be in the county this week. The Star Halcyon Women’s Club will host the blood drive Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Municipal Building in Star.
– The Mount Gilead Museum is continuing its spotlight on local artists. During September, the work of Lenny Pigford is featured. The museum is open Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m. on W. Allenton St.
– The Montgomery Cooperative Extension will host a ServSafe training for food service workers September 9 through 11 in Troy. Information is available from extension agent Hayley Napier at 576-6011.
