The Montgomery County Public Library has opened a display of work by Mount Gilead artist Dorothy B. B. Kee.
Kee says the multi-media exhibit is entitled “Global Reflections” and “represents a lifetime of influences … in areas of education, science, philosophy, politics, religion and spirituality, family, music, theatre and fashion.”
The collection includes visual, audio and written works, and the art is described as demonstrating “the unconscious, free association, dream analysis and automatism.” One reviewer said Kee’s work “is liberating to the imagination and to the spirit.”
Dorothy Belinda Bowden Kee is a native of Mount Gilead, N.C., and describes herself as a minister, international missionary, educator, author and photojournalist. She lives in Mount Gilead with her husband, composer, music producer and recording artist Alphonza Kee.
“Global Reflections” will be on exhibit through Sept. 30 at the library’s main location on W. Main St. in Troy.
