One-stop early voting continues for Nov. 5 municipal elections

One-stop early voting continues this week across North Carolina, ahead of next week’s municipal elections. In Montgomery County, the early voting takes place at a special polling place set up in the Montgomery County Courthouse, which also houses the Board of Elections office for the county.

Early voting is available each day this week from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there will be a final session Sat., Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There are special accommodations to allow physically challenged voters to complete their ballot in their vehicles. To access the service, drivers can park in the specially-designated space along the S. More information is available from the Board of Elections office at 572-2024.

Editor’s note: WMTG will air the Mount Gilead “Meet the Candidates” program again this week. Both candidates for mayor and all four candidates for town commissioner spoke on topics of their choice at the event on Oct. 17, and the entire program will repeat Wednesday afternoon following the 1 o’clock news, at about 1:10 p.m. Candidate comments can also be accessed by clicking here.
