Vickie Panzer is a physical education teacher at Mount Gilead Elementary School, and last night, Principal Beth Lancaster presented Panzer with a certificate honoring the accomplishment.

According to the National Board, teachers typically pursue recertification nearing the ten-year anniversary of the most recent certification. The Board says “renewing certification validates that (a teacher has) continued … professional practice and involvement in a way that is consistent with the high and rigorous National Board standards.”

Panzer was recognized at the Dec. 9, 2013, meeting of the Montgomery County Board of Education, where she was congratulated by Superintendent Dr. Dale Ellis, members of the board and others in attendance.
