Local events to celebrate, commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr.

There are several local events on the calendar for the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday:

– Biscoe Masonic Lodge 734 will host a banquet with guest speakers and entertainment Sat., Jan. 18, at 6 p.m. at the James Garner Center in Troy. Tickets and information at 910-428-2634.

– On Mon., Jan. 20, there will be Martin Luther King, Jr. walk, starting at 10 a.m. at the Biscoe Town Hall and ending at East Montgomery High School. All are invited, and more information is available at 910-428-2634.

– Montgomery County Communities In Schools will host the MLK Challenge and Day of Service for youth on Mon., Jan. 20. Information on participation and adult volunteer opportunities is available at 910-573-0974.
