Con artists reportedly strike in Mount Gilead

Neighbors are warning each other to beware of a possible scam following reports of a theft last week in Mount Gilead.

Sources say a local woman was called to the door of her residence by a person who claimed to be trying to locate property lines. While the woman was distracted, an accomplice allegedly entered the woman’s home and stole some jewelry.

Local police have not provided a description of any suspects, and as far as we know, no arrests have been made.
