Forestry courses to begin May 27 in Troy

Montgomery Community College will host a series of courses on forestry and tree care starting Tue., May 27.

140425_MCC_LogoA dozen sessions will be taught by North Carolina Registered Forester and MCC senior instructor Mike Thompson, who said the series is intended for forest landowners who want to know more about their timberland, or for forestry practitioners who need a refresher.

The courses will cover topics from tree identification, forest measurements, and soil and water management to forestry statistics, investment analysis, and the establishment and care of landscape trees.

Information on MCC’s forestry and tree care series is available from the college Continuing Education Department at 910-576-6222, ext. 532.
