Montgomery County Relay for Life had its final fund raising reporting meeting of the season Monday night. Relay co-chair Angie Sasser said teams turned in another $16,500, bringing the total raised in this year’s effort to more than $59,500.

At the last report, the 2014 Relay involved 32 teams and 341 participants.

The county’s annual Relay celebration was held May 16, and teams have a wrap-up party in August, at which time all final contributions will be received and forwarded to the American Cancer Society for research and treatment.

Sasser also told those gathered Monday the Town of Troy is planning to invite any and all cancer survivors to serve as grand marshals of this year’s TroyFest parade.
