Montgomery Community College president Mary Kirk attended her final round of board meetings Wed., Jun. 11.
Kirk will retire at the end of this month, and she received some gifts of appreciation and recognition, including a piece of Raku pottery crafted by Mike Ferree, and a framed collection of photos of all the board members with whom she has worked during her tenure at the college.
Mary Kirk has been at MCC for about 15 years, and her last day is Jun. 30. The following day, Kirk will begin work as vice president of the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
Mary Chesson, a former Vice President of Instruction at MCC, will start a term as interim president will begin Jul. 1.
