A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy has been fired following his alleged actions in a personal domestic dispute.
Sources say Deputy Tavares Hill drove a county-owned car to Stanly County to confront a man Hill suspected of being with his wife. The man’s vehicle was reportedly damaged by Hill, and a complaint was filed with Sheriff Dempsey Owens, who gave Hill a ten-day suspension with pay.
Published reports say Hill confronted the man again last Saturday, and it is alleged that the deputy pulled a gun on him. Sheriff Owens fired Hill after the second incident, which was reported to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office through a 911 call.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal investigation and offered no additional comment.
