New London man killed in Albemarle crash

We now know the name of a young man killed in a Tuesday car crash in Albemarle.

140114_Police_Lights_Abstract30-year-old Bryan Derek Forsythe of New London died on impact in the wreck at 4:23 p.m. Tue., Jul. 8.

Reports say Forsythe was traveling west on N.C. Hwy. 24/27 near South Albemarle Park when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a truck that was towing farm equipment. The accident occurred near Quality Equipment Co., the John Deere dealership formerly known as Bowers Implement Co.

The driver of the truck, 27-year-old Joshua Cory Bryant of Richfield, was not seriously injured.

The road was closed for about three hours while Albemarle Police investigated and cleaned up the scene.
