No developments in Vanderwal murder

It has been three weeks since the murder of area potter Kit Vanderwal, and no new developments have been announced in the investigation.

Vanderwal lived in the Westmoore community, about five miles northeast of Star, where he operated Lantern Hill Pottery. The Moore County Sheriff’s Office said Vanderwal was murdered and his shop and home set on fire Aug. 22.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Moore County Sheriff’s tip line at 910-947-4444, or contact local law enforcement. A reward is being offered.
