Montgomery County Commissioners will meet today.
The first item on their agenda is the groundbreaking at the new county animal shelter, to be built on the existing site on Landfill Road, off N.C. Hwy. 24/27 West. The new facility is expected to alleviate space problems that have plagued the shelter for some time.
The agenda for the commissioners’ work session includes discussion on a proposal to seek architectural services for various potential projects in the county. Documentation released ahead of the meeting says future projects may include renovations to the County Administration and Community Services Buildings and the courthouse, parking upgrades at the county library and Agriculture Building, and a possible new General Services Building.
The agenda for this evening’s regular session is relatively light, including the monthly public forum, regular administrative reports and some board appointments.
Montgomery County Commissioners usually meet on the third Tuesday of each month, with a work session at 5 p.m. and the regular session at 6 p.m. Meetings are held in the County Administration Building on E. Spring St. behind the courthouse in Troy.
