Two dead, one hospitalized following shooting at Wadeville

Two people are dead and a third is hospitalized following an early morning shooting near Wadeville, Tue., Nov. 18.

Reports say 47-year-old Khamphone Douangkham forcibly entered a home at 1518 N.C. Hwy. 109 S. around 3:25 a.m., where he shot his girlfriend and her brother. Their names have not been released, but information circulated this morning says the girlfriend was transported by helicopter to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and the brother died.

Authorities located the shooter in the woods near the home around 7:30 a.m., dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Traffic was detoured around the scene for several hours, and both West Middle and West Montgomery High Schools started two hours late.
