Authorities in Stanly County have made an arrest in connection to a string of break-ins along Lake Tillery.

Reports say 22-year-old Marqes McCormick of Lowder St. in Albemarle has been charged in four robberies. An arrest warrant has also been issued for 18-year-old Marcus Crump, who lives at the same residence.

The action comes after Stanly County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a security alarm around 3 a.m. Wed., Nov. 19.

Capt. Charles Hatley of the sheriff’s office told the Stanly News & Press there have been “as many as 20 break-ins” in the last two months at lakefront homes along the lake from Norwood to Badin.
