Customer service, marketing seminars today at MCC

Customer service and marketing will be the themes of two seminars to be offered today (Mar. 31) at Montgomery Community College (MCC) in Troy. The sessions will be led by Emily Ballance, a nationally-recognized speaker and author with a background in healthcare, private counseling and the corporate world.

Biographical information on her website says, “Emily offers a humorous perspective on the challenges of work, generational differences, stress management, customer service, difficult people and life in general. Her presentations come alive with her positive, affirming humor and her audiences leave with better skills to improve work relationships, manage stress, increase productivity, and enhance their health, happiness and well-being.”

Her first session, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., will focus on “Secrets of Great Customer Service”. Topics will include the many aspects of customer service and cultivating repeat customers.

The second seminar, 6 to 9 p.m., is titled, “Market Your Business by Networking in Your Local Community”. In this session, Ballance will talk about making connections that will result in business relationships, sharing her own insight on the subject as an entrepreneur for over 25 years.

“Bring your business cards if you have some,” Ballance said. “But don’t worry if you are just getting started or don’t have any. This is a fun, informative, and interactive presentation. It’s a great chance to meet people and…yes…practice networking! But without pressure.”

Both seminars will be in Building 100, Room 136, at MCC and are free and open to the public.
