The North Carolina Department of Transportation will host a regional public information session tomorrow (Apr. 9) in Stanly County. According to NCDOT, the meeting is designed to inform the public about the 10-year State Transportation Improvement Program and to gather input on the process to create it.
There will not be a formal presentation. Rather, the meeting will be conducted in an “open house” format, where the public can view one of multiple showings of a video, see a map of proposed transportation plans through 2025, talk with DOT staff and provide feedback through a survey.
The meeting will be at the Stanly County Commons government office complex in the old Quenby Mall in Albemarle. The public is invited to drop in anytime between 4 and 7 p.m.
The 10-year State Transportation Improvement Plan includes more than 1,000 projects spanning multiple modes of transportation and affecting all of the state’s 100 counties.
Optional methods of receiving information and providing feedback are available from NCDOT at 1-800-481-6494.
