North Carolina’s Rural Center will visit Montgomery County for a roundtable discussion. The meeting is set for Tue., Aug. 11, 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Montgomery Senior Center off Page St. in Troy.
According to its mission, the Rural Center works to develop and implement economic strategies for the state’s 85 rural counties, including Montgomery. In February 2015, the center adopted a plan for its next phase of advocacy.
Five roundtable discussions were scheduled across the state to give Rural Center staff and board members an opportunity to meet face-to-face with local people interested in this economic development. The agenda includes a legislative briefing and discussion and breakout sessions on the center’s policies. A free lunch will following the meeting.
