Community Radio 88.1 FM WMTG is a non-commercial low-power station licensed to the Mount Gilead Community Concerts Association (MGCCA). We broadcast a wide variety of oldies and adult contemporary music and information 24 hours a day from our studio in Mount Gilead, N.C. Our full program listing is available on our schedule page.
WMTG is pleased to air announcements of community interest on request, provided they are for non-profit, non-commercial purposes. Announcements can be submitted using this form, or by calling our toll-free listener line at 1-855-881-WMTG (9684).
In March 2013, a new full-power station, WYTR, came on the air at 88.1 FM in Robbins, N.C. The station, operated by Athens Christian Radio, Inc., greatly limits WMTG’s coverage, but our class of service is not protected under the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. We will continue to work to provide the best coverage possible, and we invite you to listen online and read our blog to keep up with local news and information.
If you’ve never listened before, or haven’t listened lately, we hope you will tune in and give WMTG a try. We’d also love to hear your suggestions about how the station can better serve the community, so please feel free to contact us.

Is there any more choice of music i hear like 3 songs 5 or 6 times a day onnthe radio station, I am just asking because i listen everyday and kind of getting bored with the station playing the same songs all day.
Hi, and thanks for the message. Our library contains several thousand non-current songs, and we use a random playlist generator to try to keep them all in rotation. In addition, we play about a dozen current songs, which are in a heavier rotation, about 6 times in a 24-hour period. Recently current (or “recurrent”) songs rotate differently, playing less often than new songs, but more often than the older songs. We would love to expand our library of older music, but time and money are the issue in a non-profit, volunteer operation like ours. Still, we try to add something to the library every week, and I hope you’ll hang in there with us. If you have specific suggestions for styles of music, certain artists, etc., please use the “Send News & Event Information” link at the top of the page and send us a message, or send a message on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/wmtgradio . Thanks for the feedback! -Johnny
